Empty Tummies, Worried Eyes

Here we are at the end of September already! I'm not sure if time could go any faster. For us it means the end of the rain. This has been a very dry rainy season and most of the farmers here agree that their harvest is about 1/3 - 1/2 of normal - which isn't very good even with lots of rain and perfect growing conditions. Up in Chiminisijuan - at about 8,000 feet, the growing season is much longer so they have not even begun to harvest yet. We are anticipating that the need for food will be greater this year. God in His amazing sovereignty has provided a container load of fortified rice to us - literally just dropped into our laps. (Thanks to Vine International!) I am thinking that He knows what is ahead.

Yesterday in Chiminisjuan we put three new children into our feeding program. Little ones with big swollen bellies and skinny little arms and legs. Mamas with worried eyes...

"Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed the very hairs of you head are all numbered. Don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows." Luke 12:6-7
